Welcome to Monday everyone! Once again it's time to get the week started and I'm seriously lacking motivation. With snow all weekend and another storm on the way I've had my fill of winter. I mean, seriously folks! This has been a crazy season. I really don't think my Southern blood can take another week of this grey, cold and gloomy weather. As a result my mind has started to swim with the warm images of spring. I had always thought I understood the winter blues, but now I realize that I didn't have a clue! Living in the southeast our winters may have had a few days with temperatures hovering around 35 with a little rain, but mainly sunshine filled afternoons with chilly ocean breezes. That sounds like a dream right now. To get through these last days of winter I'm going to keep my eye on SPRING. It will possibly be the best, most appreciated season of my entire life.
The gardener in me lives for this season. Seeing baby buds on jasmine vines, peony bushes and cherry trees fills me with the warm and fuzzys. It's time to pull out the galoshes and start turning over some dirt, prep the hydrangeas and fertilize the roses.
Spring is time to spend late afternoons chasing the sun and dining al fresco.
Feeling warm sun on my skin is the best cure for all my winter ailments. The first day I can put on my favorite pair of cut-offs, a comfy tee and sandals fills me with this sense of freedom and I'm ready to hit the ground running.
A lazy afternoon enjoying the sunshine and warm breezes ease all that built up angst from the winter months. I'm ready to sit my butt in the sunshine and soak up the vitamin D. (I know my more fair skinned friends are shaking a finger at me about this one. I promise I'll put on my sunscreen, but this girl will work hard to become a beautiful shade of cocoa brown)
It's time to explore! I want to feel the grass between my toes and the wind in my hair.
Last but not least is the excitement that comes with the social events of the season. Spring means it's time to break out your bright dresses and big hats to style for the garden parties, weddings and fundraisers. It's the perfect way to come out of our hibernation, reacquaint ourselves with world and prep for all the activities and fun of summer.
What's your most anticipated/loved moments of the spring season?
