Getting Cozy

Tuesday, January 7, 2014

Subzero temperatures have my mind on one thing today.... Staying Warm!  I can't believe the temp outside is well below zero.  These temps are a first for this southern girl and I can, with great confidence, say that this cold mess is not for me.  It has, however, had me on the hunt for something cozy to go with our new sofa that will be arriving next week.  I can hardly contain my excitement!  I have been desperate to replace our sad old sofa and the day is finally coming.  Our new stunner has been off at the upholsterers since before the holidays.  It's almost cruel that they make you wait so long.  Any who.... My New Year's resolution to purge and organize the house has been paused to search for the perfect throw and pillows for the living room.  As I shop I become more and more drawn to these super chunky knits.  Plush and warm wool is perfect for the winter season.  Plus these knits will add great texture and style to our space.

These beautiful throws have high impact and interest.  The yarn is also available if you would like to knit your own!  Because these blanket are handmade with custom yarn they can be expensive.  I would love to knit my own.  I've made hats, socks, mittens and scarves in the past, so I'm no stranger to the process.  My mind is just running wild with ideas for my own super bulky blanket.  Currently I'm loving the choice of yarns at Loopy Mango.  They have everything you need to make your own custom big loop blanket.  I may just have to take the plunge and go for it.  If I do I promise to share the after results.
