Almost everyone on the planet recognizes the iconic Hermes orange and black box. Just a glance causes the mind to dream about opulent silk scarves and handmade Birkin bags that even the biggest celebrities have to wait years to get their hands on. You know.... all the wonderful things that come inside these glamorous and elusive boxes. Well.... now you have to think about the box. These orange and black beauties are all the rage to stack and accessorize your space.
Thanks, in part to these bright lovelies, boxes are back on the "must have" list for coffee table and book shelf accessories. I know that decorative boxes have been around since the dawn of man, but recently the design world has dressed them up in glossy lacquers and shimmering metallic making them much more desirable and trendy.
I can't count the times I've received something in a beautifully constructed box that I just didn't have the heart to throw away, but I always did for fear of creating clutter. Now I'll be using them to organize small items and stream line my décor!
Here are a few that I have my eye on....
Striped Trinket Box at C. Wonder
Iris Paper Stationary Box at Furbish Studio
Elle Lacquer Storage Boxes at Swing Design
Luxe Gold Leaf Boxes as Zinc Door
Ming Boxes at Z. Gallerie
A decorative box will make a wonderful holiday gift. Tuck something special inside to make the gift personal and endearing.
