The Tufted Ottoman Coffee Table Inspiration

I have had a small obsession with the tufted ottoman coffee table.  My home has a very open floor plan and creative seating is necessary.   A large square tufted ottoman can be luxurious and functional.  Unfortunately most come with that luxury price tag!  For us budget decorators it can be heart breaking.  Well, I say "No Guts No Glory!".  I'm gonna make this sucka myself!  That's right!  A tufted ottoman/coffee table is my November project.

I've looked high and low for a deal on one of these pieces.  The problem is that I'm totally picky and would rather have something that is a perfect fit in my home than settle for something that's close enough.  Everything I found in my price range were covered with faux leathers or very bland khaki.  Since my home has a very open floor plan I need to bring in color and interest with my smaller and interchangeable furnishings.  With so many beautiful discount fabrics in the world I just know I can find exactly what I'm looking for.  I don't know about you, but when picking fabric I have to consider the daily abuse on my furniture and my home.  With three dogs I have to pick a durable and easy clean fabric.  Since a ottoman in my house will take on more wear and tear than any other piece of furniture I am considering using outdoor fabric.

You can tell by my inspiration fabrics that I'm looking for something that can hide dirt and add interest.  I will take you step by step through this project that I'll start next Monday.  Stay tuned for more fabulous DIY decor ideas in the future.

Until next time,
Brandyn
